The Imanian alternative education system never fails to leave a mark!

Our Imanians have achieved memorable milestones in their academic progress. The iPrimary and iLower Secondary Achievement test by Edexcel prepares our learners along the way for their iGCSEs. It is worthy to mention that these young learners have secured Edexcel Awards at these examinations consecutively.

  • Fathima Hafsa Amry – The Edexcel Award for Best Performance at the iPrimary Examination in the Year 2016

  • Safiyah Nazly – The Edexcel Award for Best Performance at the iPrimary Examination in the Year 2017

  • Faiqa Sabat Roshan – The Edexcel Award for Best Performance at the iPrimary Examination in the Year 2018

  • Maryam Faleel – Secured the highest mark for English Language in Sri Lanka at the iLower Secondary Examination in the Year 2019

Best coding Mueena Shahmy – Best Animation Award at the SLASSCOM TechKids Online Coding Competition

“The Best Animation award went to 8th Grader Mueena Shahmy from Iman Academy. Mueena’s animation talks through the different symptoms of COVID-19, the safety measures such as washing hands, social distancing, using sanitizers, and wearing face masks. A noteworthy feature of this animation is Mueena’s self-recorded voice narrative that perfectly synced-up with her animation frames. You can enjoy Mueena’s animation at:

Waters of the World

“Your World Competition” is a short video competition organized by British Council for students aged 14 – 17 who showcase a glimpse of their abode that will interest other students from all over the world.

Iman Academy, Colombo – Sri Lanka was awarded the Global Winner Award after competing with countries all over the world. This was a memorable achievement indeed!

This is the fifth year the competition has been held, and for the first time a Sri Lankan school received not only the regional award, but the global award as well!

The theme this year was “Waters of the World” and five of our Imanian students (Ahmed Azim, Amrullah Fahim, Abdulali Fahim, Hafsa Amry and Sarah Anas) created a video on Aquaponics, and how the system helps conserve this most valuable resource.

Munchee Inter-School Futsal Tournament

The Imanian team, Under 15 boys, entered this competition for the very first time and showcased high levels of team spirit and faith. They, along with the school were enthusiastic in the contribution each of them made, to maintain their winning streak.

Young players belonging to the Under 12 category were also a part of the squad that beat many reputed schools in the arena of football and futsal. After beating Royal institute, Wisdom International and Alethea International, they qualified to the finals against Elizabeth Moir, who were the defending champions. Imanians portrayed a lot of skills and posed tough competition to their opponents and the game ended in a draw. However, they emerged runners-up after a penalty shoot out, 1-nil. A display of fine sportsmanship by the young lads as they celebrated their efforts.

All Island Acer Athletic Meet

Our high spirited Imanian boys took part in the All Island Acer Athletic Meet held in February 20 for the first time. It was with great stamina and skill were they able to secure top positions of the day.

  • Ayash Ahmed – Gold Medal –Putt Shot (U16) and Merit Award – Discus Throw (U16)

  • Abdullah Azim – Bronze Medal – Discus Throw (U16)

  • Zufrie Zuhrie – Bronze Medal – 200m Flat Race (U14)

The Inaugural Invitational Imanian GoodFutsal Champion Trophy

Iman Academy successfully hosted their Inaugural Interschool Futsal Tournament on 30th November 2019 at the MECC Grounds, Colombo with the participation of esteemed schools in Colombo.

The MECC Team emerged winners of Under-17 whilst Royal Institute clinched the Runners-up Award. Iman Academy emerged champions in the Under-14 category, MECC awarded Runners-up.

Speech and Drama Achievements – Trinity College London

Best Performance – Acting in Pairs

The Imanian fraternity of Speech and Drama strongly believes are tools of self-empowerment. This platform elevates democracy and expression – oh and it gets better when a duo performs – the multiplied effect!

Two such pairs of drama queens and mentees of an in-house certified expert in Speech and Drama, have presented themselves at the Speech and Drama – Trinity College, London acting in pairs competition.
