The sport of futsal is suitable for boys and girls. Young children are able to develop early motor skills combined with important social skills in a fun and safe environment. Children are able to participate in modified versions of the sport that cater for the age and skill level of the child.

Futsal is similar to soccer in that it is a low contact sport so the risk of serious injury is low. Children are able to participate and build fitness in an enjoyable and safe environment. Fun Futsal at Iman Academy, inculcates a range of character building techniques. So that our students take ownership of excellent etiquette and positive attitude on and off the field.

Our senior Imanians recently took part in the Munchee Inter-School Futsal Tournament and emerged Runners-up.

Swim Safe

Swim Safe is a program of outdoor swimming and water safety lessons for children at Iman Academy. This is an essential life skill to acquire for all ages and is most definitely never too late to start. At Iman Academy, we motivate students to choose to learn this skill so that it directly reflects on their positive vibes towards academics!

Senior swimmers of Iman Academy are registered under the Sri Lanka Schools’ Aquatic Sports Association (SLASA). SLASA is the governing body of aquatic sports and recreational activities of the schools of Sri Lanka . Our swimmers were participants at the 46th All Island Schools Age Group Aquatic Championship 2019 organized by SLASA held at Sugathadasa Swimming Complex that created a great exposure and experience for our active participants of swimming.

Karate Kick

Activities like Karate, tae kwon do, kung fu and aikido are a fun way for both boys and girls to achieve fitness and focus. Some parents may think they also promote violence, but that’s a myth, according to experts. The martial arts actually help teach self-discipline and socialization skills. In fact, many parents whose children have attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) report great success with these programs. That is because self-control and concentration are exactly the skills underdeveloped in ADHD kids.

Extra-Curricular Activities at Iman Academy takes great pride in exposed students to many local and international platforms and earned them the opportunity to win multiple awards, especially with regard to Karate.

A game of grit, perseverance, humility and discipline like many other sports, Netball builds values in all players that embark on the passion for Netball. At Iman Academy, we encourage our young girls to follow the path of Netball, a possession game as a passion from Year 4 to Year 11.

A sport that builds an individual and a team. A sport that nurtures and fashions an emerging young girl into a responsible citizen with values such as leadership and resilience full of determination. It enhances the body of young girls in many ways like developing the body’s cardiovascular system, body’s flexibility and hand-eye coordination.
